LOGICOM: PROUD GOLD PARTNER OF THE CYPRUS OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

A partnership driven by a common purpose for progress in Athletics

NICOSIA, CYPRUS, 26 September 2022— Logicom Public Ltd announced today a partnership agreement with the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) until the end of 2024, year of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.  

The agreement was signed in Nicosia by the President of the COC, Mr. George Chrysostomou and the Chairman of Logicom’s Board of Directors Mr. Takis Klerides, in the presence of Mr. Varnavas Irinarchos (Logicom’s Vice-Chairman and Managing Director), and Mr. Anthoulis Papachristoforou (Logicom’s Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer).   Athletes present during the signing of the agreement included George Balartzisvili (Judo), Elias Georgiou (Gymnastics), and Antri Christoforou (Cycling), which are among those athletes who distinguished themselves in the 2022 Commonwealth Games with their impressive performances. 

This partnership, which will be in effect until the end of 2024, is the culmination of the excellent relationship between the two parties, and is in line with the principles of Logicom’s corporate social responsibility policy, which aims to strengthen, enhance and create a long-lasting and positive impact on society and to support Cyprus Sports.

The President of the COC, Mr. George Chrysostomou, addressed the signing ceremony and presented the athletes who were present during the signing of the agreement.  In his address, Mr. Chrysostomou said: “For the Cyprus Olympic Committee a role model athlete is not an athlete that breaks all records, but an athlete that through his/her presence and good character, promote the substantive change in society that Olympism and the Olympic values can represent.”

In turn, Mr. Klerides noted that Logicom is a proud fellow traveller on the Cyprus Olympic Committee’s journey, especially for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, noting that “the Olympics are the games of new horizons.  At Logicom, as part of our corporate social responsibility, we want to contribute even more for the new generation, which is the cornerstone of all our actions.”
