Job Overview

The System Engineer will be analysing, designing, installing, configuring, migrating, maintaining, and repairing Systems Infrastructure and associated application components, and must be able to do so from inception to hand-over in an autonomous and self-sufficient manner. The position is based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Contributing from solution design to delivery, implementation, maintenance, and support, as a member of the Infrastructure Team.
  • Designing, installing, and configuring complete Infrastructure Solutions, including components like Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Backup, Operating Systems, Cloud IaaS and other.
  • Designing Hybrid Cloud solutions utilizing technology components from the leading vendors in the industry, like, Microsoft, HPE, IBM, Lenovo, Huawei, AWS and Oracle.
  • Designing and implementing robust Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Solutions.
  • Designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMware and Veeam solutions.
  • Planning, installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Cloud Services (Azure, Office 365).
  • Engaging in Presales activities and supporting the Presales team to design the best techno-economical Solution, including the presentation of the turn-key Solution to the customers.
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Achieving reliable, timely and high-quality design and deployment work, troubleshooting malfunctions of hardware and related operating systems, to resolve operational issues and restore services, and being able to accurately diagnose root cause(s).
  • Supporting day-to-day operations, maintenance, monitoring and upgrading of Infrastructure solutions.
  • Being the primary customer technical contact to drive problem determination and resolution.
  • Engaging in troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, and other Systems problem(s).
  • Working on-site with customers to provide technical support, setup assistance, and technical coverage for Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Responding to clients, staff, service providers and vendors’ inquiries, providing technical assistance and support.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Around 2 years of hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or any other related field.
  • Master’s degree in a related field will be considered as an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure components, including in-depth knowledge of Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Backup, Operating Systems, Cloud IaaS/PaaS and other.
  • The following Certifications will be considered as an advantage:
    • For Servers and Storage with HPE, Lenovo, IBM, Huawei and Oracle.
    • For Virtualization, Backup, Operating Systems with Microsoft, VMware, Veeam & Linux.
    • For Cloud IaaS/PaaS with AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with using the Systems Management and Monitoring tools.
  • Team player and strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written Greek and English language skills.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CANDIDATE PRIVACY NOTICE FOR MEDICAL ASSESSMENT BEFORE HIRING

You agree that subject to the completion of the recruitment process and provided that you receive a conditional offer for employment, you will go through a Fit-For-Work assessment by the Company’s Doctor. The Doctor defines the medical tests needed and performs the examination. You will need to sign a Data Privacy consent with the Company Doctor. The Company Doctor will provide a Fit-For-Work assessment with possible comments to the Company. This assessment will be one of the elements taken into consideration for providing a final offer.
