Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated System Engineer to join our IT Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, VMs, and storage systems.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting hardware, software, and database issues.
- Implementing and maintaining security measures.
- Managing system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborating with software development Teams to enhance system functionality.
- Developing and maintaining system documentation, procedures, and best practices.
- Automating routine system administration tasks using scripts and tools.
- Participating in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Providing technical support and guidance to internal Teams and end-users.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in system engineering, IT administration, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Windows Server and/ or Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Familiarity with SQL databases and business applications.
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certification on Systems will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks like ITIL will be considered an advantage.
