Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join our Group IT Team. This entry-level position involves providing first-level support for network-related issues and handling helpdesk network requests. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of networking concepts, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to grow within the field of network engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responding to helpdesk tickets and network-related issues, providing timely and effective resolution.
  • Performing initial troubleshooting of network problems, including connectivity, performance issues, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assisting in monitoring network performance using tools to identify potential issues.
  • Supporting end-users with network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and LAN configurations.
  • Assisting in setting up and maintaining basic network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Documenting support issues and resolutions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior engineers or relevant departments when necessary.
  • Maintaining network documentation, including network diagrams and inventory of network equipment.
  • Following company security protocols and assist with network security tasks, including firewall configurations and access controls.
  • Collaborating with Team members to improve processes and ensure effective network support.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required)
  • Basic networking certifications (e.g, Cisco CCNA).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
  • Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the IT Team and other departments.
  • Strong customer service skills and a desire to help users resolve technical issues.
  • Experience in IT support, network support, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
  • Exposure to help desk ticketing systems and basic network troubleshooting will be considered an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work occasional off-hours for maintenance tasks or urgent support issues.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CANDIDATE PRIVACY NOTICE FOR MEDICAL ASSESSMENT BEFORE HIRING

You agree that subject to the completion of the recruitment process and provided that you receive a conditional offer for employment, you will go through a Fit-For-Work assessment by the Company’s Doctor. The Doctor defines the medical tests needed and performs the examination. You will need to sign a Data Privacy consent with the Company Doctor. The Company Doctor will provide a Fit-For-Work assessment with possible comments to the Company. This assessment will be one of the elements taken into consideration for providing a final offer. Other elements include but are not limited of, verification of the educational certifications, the references, and the work permits (if applicable).

Logicom will keep the Fit-For-Work assessment as part of your HR records if your Employment Contract is signed. If the Employment Contract is not signed, the Fit-For-Work assessment will be destroyed upon such confirmation.
